Coach Referral Service

As part of the membership for Accredited Coaches, the IIC provides you with the opportunity to find a coach in the directory of its Accredited Coaches. The Coach Referral Service provided by the IIC is a FREE on-line Coach Referral Service. This means that the coaches that are displayed in the Coach Referral Service Directory are all trained coaches who have achieved their Accreditation Status which shows their training and experience as a coach. This service provides you with the assistance in identifying and selecting the coach or coaches best suited to your requirements.

Find an IIC Coach

It is important to understand that the coaches displayed through this service are those who, in line with Data Protection, have allowed the details to be displayed. Please do not hesitate to contact us should you have any questions, or wish to be put in touch with coaches who may have opted not to display their details.

How do you select your coach? The IIC can provide guidelines to assist you in selecting the right coach for you. These can be found by clicking here.

The IIC is an independent Professional Coaching Body comprised of professional coaches and coaching organisations, with an international focus working with International Standards and Ethics, to promote best practice and raise awareness. The skill sets, competencies, standards and ethics defined for the IIC are designed by mutual agreement between coaches from across the world. These coaches have made the commitment to design, build and maintain the highest standards you would expect in any profession.

Coaching has its own unique set of skills. As coaching is not yet a regulated industry there are many individuals and organisations representing themselves as coaches or coaching organisations - some of these are individuals who are calling themselves coaches without any formal coach training. In these cases they will be transferring their skills from other professions into their coaching. Coaches often have to 'unlearn' old skills from their previous professions before they can competently learn the skills required for to be an effective coach. Therefore selecting to work with a coach who has no formal coach training, may result in an inadequate or in-effective coaching experience for you.

So if you are considering hiring a coach, as you will see from the 'how to hire a coach' details one of the questions you should ask is what coach specific training they have had and what accreditation level they have achieved? Deciding whether a coach is competent cannot be defined by the fees that they charge or by non-coach specific training.

To understand the differences in Accreditation levels, we have provided a summary of the accreditation requirements below:
