The Coaching Achievement Awards are coaching’s most prestigious awards for coaching from

The Coaching Achievement Awards celebrate the achievements of coaching clients by
awarding the coach with an internationally recognised Coaching Achievement Award. These
awards highlight the vision, the commitment, and the will to succeed of those who have used

The IIC’s Coaching Achievement Awards are internationally recognised awards for coaches
who have worked with their clients to lasting success and achievement. Effective coaching
enables clients to achieve their dreams, their aspirations, and their goals. The IIC’s aim is to
recognise coaches who create this achievement through their coaching skills – to give you the
reward and recognition that you deserve.
Being recognised through the Coaching Achievement Awards builds your professional
reputation, and all Coaching Achievement Awards finalists will be celebrated at the next International IIC Conference. The use of the Coaching Achievement
Awards logo on your web-site, stationery and literature is a mark of your coaching excellence.
The quality that all winners of the Coaching Achievement Awards show is that they will all be
able to demonstrate the success and achievement of their clients. Coaches may be coaches
who are working with clients in an organisation or coaching individuals. Winners show, not
only their coaching skills, but also the outstanding results achieved by their clients.

The Coaching Achievement Awards are internationally recognised awards for coaches whose

Although the Coaching Achievement Awards are run by the IIC, these awards are open to all
coaches, whether Members or not of the IIC. The Coaching Achievement Awards are a
means of recognising and rewarding coaching excellence. Being entered for these coaching
awards will promoted your skills as a coach. Winning one of the Coaching Achievement
Awards allows you to use the Coaching Achievement Awards logo on your web-site, material,
and literature; and will build your professional reputation.
The quality shared by all entrants and winners of the Coaching Achievement Awards is each
entry will demonstrate the outstanding results, the achievements and successes of each
client.
The quality that all winners of the Coaching Achievement Awards show is that they will all be
able to demonstrate the success and achievement of their clients. Coaches may be coaches
who are working with clients in an organisation or coaching individuals. Winners show, not
only their coaching skills, but also the outstanding results achieved by their clients.
The IIC is looking for entries that demonstrate the achievement and success of clients
through the skills utilised by their coaches. Therefore entries are welcome from all coaches –
from those employed by organisations to coaches who are self-employed (in any capacity).
GETTING STARTED
If you know you’ve got what it takes to be an applicant and to become a finalist, the
application process is a simple one. We need to receive your application form detailing your
details, your coaching case study, and supporting evidence from your client of their
achievements and successes.
As the information submitted will include sensitive information, all information received by the
IIC is treated in the strictest confidence. Only that which is detailed in the application as
information to be published will be made available to the public.
ELIGIBILITY
Any coach or coaching client is eligible to apply. Both Members and non-Members of the IIC
may apply. A coaching client may apply on behalf of their coach. Where this is the case, we
would request that the client notifies their coach of their intention. Where the application is
from a coach employed by an organisation and the client is the organisation, we would
request that the coach gets permission from their employment organisation.
Each element of the entry has a maximum word count – no entry will be eligible if the entry
exceeds the word count in one element of the entry. Please verify your word count carefully
– remember that using Microsoft Word Count includes bullets, paragraph numbers and other
functions.
DOCUMENTATION
The application form does allow for enough space for element of the entry, where additional
space is required, please clearly cross reference and insert additional A4 sheets at the end of
the application, as required. Only documentation submitted at the time of the entry of the
application will be taken into consideration. Where documentation is submitted by post, it
should be submitted as individual pages and should not be bound or laminated. The
application forms must be completed in BLOCK CAPITALS. All additional documentation
submitted must be submitted in typewritten format. It is important to remember that all
documentation submitted supporting the standards of the coach must show and support the
achievements and success of the client.
Your application can include photographs, graphs, charts, table, etc.; and the words count
towards the total number of words within your application.
All documentation must be submitted in English. Where English is not the first language of
the client or the coach, the first language must be included in the submitted documentation.
Where the client selects to submit the information directly to the IIC, the coach must provide
the client with the outline requirements for the entry.
PUBLICITY
The IIC will assume approval from the coach as part of the entry. The details of all winners
(name, company name, web-site) with a 150-word outline and photograph will be published on
the IIC’s web-site.
The IIC will run a publicity campaign after the Coaching Achievement Awards are awarded. The information submitted for this campaign will
include the details listed in the paragraph above, unless the IIC is informed otherwise. We
will ensure that the national press of the country of each winner is included in this publicity
campaign. Therefore where you have contacts with your national press please do not hesitate
to provide these details as part of your application. As with any publicity the IIC cannot
guarantee press coverage.
Outline details of all coaches entered, will be published on the IIC’s web-site.
COLLATING YOUR APPLICATION

ensure that your application is completed successfully.

There is no restriction to the number of applications that are submitted for each coach. It is
important that each application is supported by the evidence from the client, is completed
accurately and within the guidelines published in this documentation.
Evidence
The evidence included for each application must include:
- Major changes brought about in clients life (this must include a minimum of 3 major
changes)
- Coaching beyond the call of normal duty
- What impressed the client most about the coach (a minimum of 3 points)
- Why the client thinks the coach deserves an award (no more than 500 words)
- Any memorable moments from a coaching session (in bullet form and the benefits
brought about this by these moments)
- Would you recommend this coach to a colleague or a friend?
Goals, Successes and Achievements
The application must include:
- Goal(s)
- Date that coaching commenced
- Where the client was at the start of the coaching relationship (no more than 100 words)
- Successes (in bullet form – highlight where these relate to the goal(s))
- Achievements (in bullet form – highlight how these relate to the goal(s))
- Any memorable moments from a coaching session (in bullet form and the benefits
brought about this by these moments)
- Return on Investment – Value for Money
Testimonial(s) and/or Quotes
A testimonial of no more than 50 words that could be published can be included. Where this
testimonial is published, it will only include the name and, if applicable, organisation of the
client, where the client has provided permission.
Case Study
The Case Study must clearly document in detail in the Goals, Successes and Achievements
section of this submission. Although not important to the application, the case study can
include details of coaching tools, methodologies, and skills used. The Case Study must not
exceed 5,000 words.
THE APPLICATION PROCESS
The application process is a simple process which is followed by a robust verification and
judging procedure. To ensure that your application will be verified and judged through the
judging process, it is important that your application follows the application form and the
details found in this process.
THE JUDGING PROCESS
The Coaching Achievement Awards Panel includes those found on the Conference Team
web-page, members from the IIC’s Standards and Ethics team, and a number of renown
coaches.
Each application will be seen by each member of the Coaching Achievement Awards Panel
and will progress through the various stages of The Judging Process.
Stage One
Stage One of the judging process is to ensure that the application is a valid application.
Where the application is not found to be eligible and the application has been submitted in
advance of the submission date, the applicant will be notified of the reasons that their
application is not eligible. Where the timescale allows, the application may be corrected and
re-submitted. Where an application is re-submitted, it must be re-submitted in full.
Where the application is not found to be eligible and the application has been submitted
within two-weeks of the submission date, the applicant will not be notified of the reasons that
their application is not eligible.
Stage Two
Each application will be judged on the detail in every element of the application.
This process will include, but is not exclusive to:
- Goals – were the goals stated at the beginning of the coaching relationship successfully
achieved?
- Goals – was the original goal updated and the new goal successfully achieved?
- Were the achievements made significant?
- How far did the client travel through their coaching experience?
- Reasons that the coach deserves the award
- Were the coaching sessions above and beyond the expected?
- Memorable moments and benefits from these
- To what degree the opportunities were investigated
- Were the benefits to client greater than those expected?
- Return on Investment - Value for money
Stage Three
Case study – the detail and benefits described in the case study.
The details of the coaching beyond the call of normal duty.
On completion of these steps, a shortlist of finalists will be generated.
Stage Four
A member of the Coaching Achievement Awards Panel will interview each finalist.
Stage Five
The Coaching Achievement Awards Panel will review all finalists entries and their answers to
the interview questions. The winners will be announced in the new year.
